African American Read-In: A Community Celebration
Created by the National Council Teachers of English and co-sponsored by the International Literacy Association, this celebration makes literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
The Portland Reading Council hosts a local African American Read-In each year with co-sponsors: Concordia University, North Portland Branch of the Multnomah County Library, and the Oregon Alliance of Black School Educators.
Come hear students, local celebrities, and community leaders read works by their favorite African American writers. This event is for adults and children.
